2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR-provided many challenges for the Blessings in a Backpack-Brighton Steering Committee and the volunteers assist with the packing process.   This did not stop us from feeding children each week during the school year.

We just modified our operation.  We adopted all the necessary precautions of wearing personal protection equipment (PPE), social distancing, limiting the number of volunteers, and provided the necessary information just in case contract tracing was required.  We successfully packed each week so the children we serve could still receive their bag of food for the weekend.

For the 2021-2022 school year we are hoping things return to more normal conditions.  If not, we will continue to do what is necessary to protect the volunteers who assist us and the children we are serving.  We want to provide these children with the weekend food so we can eliminate the barrier to learning
