COMMUNITY PARTNERS
Blessings in a Backpack – Northville is a “neighbor-helping-neighbor” program that is designed to help bridge the gap of the nutritional needs of children from the Northville School District. Each week, we distribute backpacks filled with enough non-perishable food for the weekend to students that qualify on the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch program.
With the generous help of businesses and organizations within Northville, we able to launch Blessings in a Backpack in the Fall of 2018. We started with just one elementary school and continued to grow each semester. The program is currently available at all Northville elementary schools, and we hope to continue to grow. We can only do this with your help. with your help. Please DONATE so that backpacks of food can continue going home with children that need our help.

Plans for
2021-2022
BIABP
Because of the generosity of our community partners we are looking into adding the Blessings in a Backpack program at the two Middle Schools, Hillside and Meads Mill. The final decision will be made in September. The students who had been receiving Blessings in a Backpack at the elementary schools who have moved up to the middle no longer receive a backpack. We would like to ensure as children advance to the middle school, they are able to continue the program. After adding the two middle schools we will concentrate on raising the additional funds necessary to add Northville High School. Please help us grow the program, consider a donation, adopting a school, or a number of backpacks.

Importance of Community Partners
We could not run this program without the help of our community partners. These organizations provide some of necessary funding which allows the program to be sustained and expand to other schools. Read More…
