COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Warren Community Partners

Warren Consolidated is a very large school district consisting of 23 schools and many children that are eligible for this program. The decision has been made by the Steering Committee to add schools in groups of three elementary schools with the associated middle school.  Phase one started with Agnus, Harwood and Hatherly Elementary Schools and Grissom Middle School. Backpacks went home to these schools starting in March of 2012.

Since than other schools have been added to the program.  Urban Science reached out and wanted to fund the program for additional schools within Warren Consolidated.  Starting in 2016, they funded Jefferson Elementary and Suisick Elementary.  In 2017, they added Pearl Lean Elementary and Beer Middle School. Later in that year we switch the middle school support over to Grissom Middle School as the Richard Thompson Foundation approached us to sponsor Beer Middle School.  In 2018 Sterling Heights High was added for a number of students.

We have many more school and children to add to the program, but we have two concerns we must address for the steering committee to move forward.  They are transportation and additional funding.  We cannot do this without the help of the community.  A donation of $155 will feed a child for an entire school year.  See additional information below for our needs for transportation.

Century Banquet Center

Join us on Thursday, November 10, 2022, and help us make our TV Themed Trivia Night a success.  Assemble your team of ten people and register and we will reverse a table for you.  If you do not have a team, we will pair you with some nice people.   All are welcome to join the fun.  Cash prizes for winning team.

Your $30 ticket price will include buffet dinner and entrance into the game.  A cash bar will be provided.  In addition to the Trivia game, we will be having a  50/50 raffle and basket raffle.  All proceeds go to support Blessings in a Backpack-Warren Con.

If you are a company, organization or an individual and would like to help in feeding hunger insecure children check out the sponsorship opportunities.  Betty White, Tim Allen, Lucille Ball,  Simon Cowell, Bart Simpson and even Jay Leno are waiting to hear from you.  One of these TV stars is holding the right script for you.

This is the major fundraiser to support the Blessings in a Backpack-Warren Consolidated program and the children we are feeding right in your community.

Anonymous Donor

Anonymous Donation

A donor who wishes to remain anonymous provided a monetary gift which enabled the Blessings in a Backpack-Warren Consolidated Steering Committee  to add four elementary schools to the Blessings in a Backpack program this fall.  The schools added are:

  • Black Elementary
  • Holden Elementary
  • Wilde Elementary
  • Wilkerson Elementary

Together we look forward to providing food for the weekend to the children at these schools who are facing hunger insecurity.

It is the desire of this donor to add the remaining three elementary school to the program as soon as the schools are ready to do so.

On behalf of the Blessings in a Backpack-Warren Consolidated Steering Committee and all the children and their families who will benefit from your very generous gift we cannot thank you enough.
